December 21’s’s scheduled episodes were Naruto<\/cite> #10, RahXephon<\/cite> #22, Hikaru no Go<\/cite> #19, Scrapped Princess<\/cite> #8, and Galaxy Angel<\/cite> #22. All were shown as scheduled. We had half a dozen members show up, plus a visit from members of Eternal Anime, a club based in Boulder.<\/p>\n

January 4’s scheduled episodes were Naruto<\/cite> #11, RahXephon<\/cite> #23, Hikaru no Go<\/cite> #20, Scrapped Princess<\/cite> #9, and Galaxy Angel<\/cite> #23. However, besides myself, only Michelle showed up, so rather than watch the scheduled episodes, we checked out the first episodes of some series that I hadn’t yet seen. Specifically, we watched episode 1 of Texhnolyze<\/cite>, Wolf’s Rain<\/cite>, Tenshi na Konamaiki<\/cite>, and Happy World<\/cite>. I’ll put descriptions in the entry continuation. The long and the short of it is that Tenshi na Konamaiki<\/cite> might be a suitable replacement for RahXephon<\/cite>, which concludes after four more episodes.<\/p>\n

Next meeting will be Sunday, January 18, from 1:15 PM to 3:15 PM.

\nTexhnolyze<\/cite> was dark (literally — you could barely see it) and confusing, and we didn’t finish watching the episode. <\/p>\n

Wolf’s Rain<\/cite> had potential, and concerned wolves taking human form to survive extinction; however, I do not have the full run of the series, and I’ve heard that the later episodes are weak. <\/p>\n

Tenshi na Konamaiki<\/cite> (which I would translate as “Angelic Impudence,” though the official translation appears to be “A Cheeky Angel”) has some rather irritating character designs, but if you can get past that, it’s pretty amusing; it’s about a boy who was magically transformed into a girl at age 9, and only she and her best friend remember that she was a boy, so now she has to come to terms with entering high school as a girl. There are 50 episodes, and I have acquired 33, so this could be something we could watch. <\/p>\n

Happy World<\/cite> is a 3-part OVA about the unluckiest boy in the world, to whom an angel is sent for protection. Cute but fluffy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
