Hello again,
Here we go again with the second installment of the club newsletter! First off, our next meeting will take place on July 17, not on July 3, since the Library will be closed for the July 4 weekend. So go out and enjoy the fireworks (and avoid the mosquitoes while you’re at it), and we’ll see you on the 17th from 1:15 to 3:45!
Well, not too much new stuff to report from the world of anime this week. Some unfortunate news came down the wire regarding Disney’s release of several Hiyao Miyizaki films, including Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (we saw the fansubbed version of this terrific film a couple of months ago), Porco Rosso, and My Neighbor Totoro. Apparently Disney has indefinitely delayed the release of these titles, initially scheduled to be released on August 31. Keep your fingers crossed and hope these films do eventually make it to this side of the ocean…
